zoe, owner & director

Zoe moved from Canada to Maryland with her husband and two daughters. She holds a master’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, and Applied Behavior Analysis, and has worked as a teacher in a variety of educational settings. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Zoe founded Fun Square with the goal of creating a play-based learning environment that inspires creativity and fosters a lifelong love of learning. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in nature with her family, as well as practicing martial arts, listening to music, dancing, reading, and gardening.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Originally from New Jersey, April studied psychology and has worked with children since the age of 14. Since becoming part of the Fun Square community in 2022, she and her family have enjoyed being actively involved. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children, traveling, and all things Disney.

LEAD TEACHER

Born and raised in Iran, Ghazal moved to Maryland with her husband. She is a mother to her daughter, Tara, and spent time as a stay-at-home parent, which helped deepen her passion for working with children of all ages. She became a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and has since worked with children of all abilities in a variety of settings. She is passionate about supporting children’s growth and development. In her free time, she enjoys playing piano, painting, and spending time with her family.

LEAD TEACHER

Born in Taiwan and raised in the United States, Lisa speaks Mandarin Chinese and holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. She lives in Rockville with her family. She spent many years as a stay-at-home mom, running a local playgroup and events site, volunteering in her children’s schools, and working in church childcare. She is a twin, born 24 minutes after her sister, and enjoys celebrating holidays and spending time with her calico cat, Pebbles.

INFANT/TODDLER TEACHER

Tatiana is an infant and toddler teacher originally from Panama with 19 years of experience caring for children. She is passionate about early childhood development, including supporting milestones such as first steps, and enjoys creating engaging learning experiences through arts, crafts, and new activities. She takes pride in watching children grow and learn. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, visiting the lake or beach, traveling when possible, and spending time with her family.

INFANT TEACHER

Mahi is an experienced early childhood educator working with children from infants to preschool age and holds an Infant/Toddler teaching certification. She is passionate about creating a calm, happy, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore. She is a proud mother of two adult children and enjoys music, dancing, meditation, yoga, and spending time in nature.

ASSISTANT TEACHER

Amy is an assistant teacher originally from Ethiopia. She has experience supporting children in a variety of educational settings and has also worked part-time at the Montgomery College Writing Center while in school. She enjoys working with all children, including those with special needs, and has experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at Behavioral Framework. In her free time, she enjoys making TikTok videos.

ASSISTANT TEACHER

Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Maryland, Sharim is the youngest of three sisters and values spending time with her close-knit family, including her four nephews. She has 10 years of experience as a nanny, caring for children from 1 month old to school age, where she enjoyed planning fun and engaging daily activities. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, reading, and gardening.
